Who we are
We are a creative agency with deep digital DNA bred to transform brands and business.
What we do
We transform brands and business in ways that only digital makes possible. We do this for some of Ireland and Europe’s biggest brands.
Our digital DNA is deep. We were founded 17 years ago and we’ve confidently navigated our clients through the opportunities every breaking wave of digital disruption has offered.
Our work is varied. It could be a content programme, a social campaign, a big brand idea or a line of code. More often than not, it’s a combination of disciplines and channels. But in every instance, the result for your business or brand is transformational.
Transforming Irish Tourism With Fáilte Ireland
At the height of the economic crisis Ireland was losing 3500 visitors a day. Emerging from the crisis, Fáilte Ireland was faced with a radically changed landscape, one where the consumer journey had moved largely to a digital world.
Research showed that in this world, traditional advertising was no longer working. Instead visitors look to peers and online content for influence, yet here, Ireland simply wasn’t showing up. So we created an international content publishing model, populating the online world with engaging content at every stage of the consumer journey.
In just 18 months, Ireland went from zero to hero. Share of voice for Dublin and the Wild Atlantic Way now outperforms the competition, and awareness, consideration and engagements have all rocketed. ROI is 6 times more efficient than paid media and visitor numbers have increased by 19%. in fact, 2015 was Irish tourism’s best year ever. Our campaign has also had the effect of transforming how Fáilte now approaches promoting Ireland.
Transforming Communications for The Open University
The Open University needed to increase organic search traffic to its website, which we knew depended hugely on competing in organic search engine rankings. We also knew that these rankings are decided by the likes of Google on the basis of quality links and mentions. The challenge therefore became how to authentically earn these all important links and mentions.
We recommended a strategy of impactful content initiatives to gain significant international coverage thereby building earned links and mentions for The Open University website. For example, for the centenary of WW1, we colourized dozens of WW1 photographs, then, through an ambitious organic outreach programme, got them placed in mainstream media.
The campaign went viral, picked up by publications in 20 countries including America’s Wall Street Journal and PBS Television, The Metro, Mirror and Express, MSN, Sweden’s Aftonbladet and others. The links and mentions generated drove The Open University up the search rankings, leading to us outperforming our KPIs by 190%, securing media coverage worth €300,000, and delivering a transformational ROI figure of 1:65.
Transforming Christmas for over 140,000 Irish households
Ironically the end of the recession presented a new problem for Ireland’s largest charity, St. Vincent de Paul, donations were starting to fall. To their credit SVP saw this as a new opportunity to present a new vision that the public and volunteers would rally around.
We discovered two pertinent facts. The public sometimes wonder if their donation makes a difference and it’s often one small thing – a missed bill, no schoolbooks – that tips people into poverty. Equally, one timely intervention can prevent it. This become the inspiration for our big idea ‘A yes can last a lifetime’ to play out online, on TV, on radio and OOH.
The campaign launched in early November of 2015, so far all KPI’s and indicators point towards a record breaking year of fund raising for SVP. Quite an achievement in a market that is increasingly competitive, cluttered and distracted.
Transforming Comms for Europe’s No 1 Tourist Attraction
Our job since 2005 has been to positively capitalise on every wave of digital disruption, grow footfall year on year and retain the Guinness Storehouse as Ireland’s No1 tourist attraction. In 2015, we were challenged by the Storehouse to solve a very contemporary problem. How to get more people to use their official Instagram channel.
We cracked a solution that would encourage people to use Instagram by baking their use of it into their experience of the Guinness Storehouse itself. We developed a real life experience - The Guinness Storehouse Digital Content Wall, which lets visitors interact with the wall using ‘minority report’ style hand gestures to control the screen.
In just 3 months; we’ve seen huge growth in conversations, 3 hours active game play per day, 6,500 additional instagram posts and a marriage proposal, all contributing to the Storehouse’s most successful year ever.
Transforming Brand Comms for Dolmio
With the rise of own label in the FMCG market, Dolmio needed a way to connect with Irish families beyond price in order to win back their loyalty.
In today’s time pressured world, Irish families need face-to-face quality time more than ever to nurture the emotional bonds that keep them close. The ‘Stand Up For Sitting Down’ movement for Dolmio was much bigger than product or price - it was striving to get families back around the dinner table. Huskies pioneered the first Facebook page for any Dolmio market, created the world’s first interactive social sitcom that encourages Irish families to prioritise family meal time.
We brought the Dolmio Family from two-dimensional characters to life and engaged them with the Irish public. We created 26 million ‘earned’ impressions and established an emotional relevance with our audience, through 90% positive sentiment, by making Dolmio, both the family and the brand, synonymous with the idea of Family Togetherness through ‘Stand Up For Sitting Down’.
