The Valentine’s Campaign that got a Lot of Love

emojis During the last six months as Nissan Ireland’s lead creative agency, Huskies have worked on a broad range of projects reflecting the wide range of skills that you'll find if you take a wander around the fourth floor of Portview House. 

On this exciting account, we’ve developed consumer journeys, search and performance strategies, as well as a whole host of TV, radio, print, social and digital campaigns. But when the Nissan team approached us to create a fun Valentine’s Day campaign last month, we wanted to take a slightly different approach than the usual one-off ad...  

And so – thanks to an amazing client – what started as one press insertion quickly turned into a fully integrated one-day campaign that had lots of people swooning. To celebrate the big day, we ran a series of tongue-in-cheek full page press ads in the papers, perfectly straddling the line between risqué and... just plain funny!



On Facebook meanwhile, we launched an emoji-based competition, where one lucky winner won a romantic getaway with their other half.

And if that wasn't enough, we also commandeered Ireland’s busiest e-car charging point, handing out free bunches of flowers in an attempt to save some Nissan LEAF drivers’ bacon (let’s just say, we knew they wouldn’t be visiting a petrol station any time soon...)


The campaign was warmly received online, with one publication going as far as saying that 'Nissan won Valentine's Day'. Most importantly though, we brought a smile to lots of faces on a day that can often be taken a tad too seriously!
